OINP draws and cutoff scores
When Ontario holds an Expression of Interest draw for the Workforce Priority Stream, this page records it: the date, which pathway it covered, the cutoff score, and how many invitations went out. Every OWP Stream draw so far
No draws have happened yet. Ontario opened EOI registration on August 4, 2026 without announcing a draw date or schedule, and states that it gives no advance notice before issuing invitations. When a draw is announced on the official stream page, its results will appear here.
How OWP Stream draws work
Registering an Expression of Interest places your profile in a selection pool, scored out of 130 points (115 for self-employed physicians). A draw ranks profiles in the pool by score and invites the top of the ranking to apply. An EOI stays in the pool for 12 months unless it is withdrawn, expires, or leads to an invitation.
The regulation allows two kinds of rounds. A general draw ranks every registered candidate; a targeted draw ranks only candidates with specific labour-market or human-capital attributes, such as an occupation group or a region. The program director decides which kind to run and when: no fixed schedule, frequency, or minimum score is set by law.
If you are invited, two clocks start. Your employer must submit the position for approval within 14 calendar days, and you must submit your application and pay the fee within 17 calendar days; a missed deadline cannot be reinstated. Ontario’s federal allocation for 2026 is 14,119 nominations across the whole OINP.
What a cutoff score means
A cutoff is the lowest score that received an invitation in a given draw. It is a result, not a requirement: Ontario publishes no minimum score, and one draw’s cutoff does not bind the next. Where a cutoff lands depends on how many candidates are in the pool, how they score, and how many invitations Ontario issues.
A targeted draw’s cutoff describes only the group it targeted, so two draws can produce very different cutoffs at the same time. The first draws of a new stream also have no history behind them, so any single cutoff is a data point about that draw, not a bar you must clear.
